Note: I don't have any financial or business ties to phantasyworkshosting.com other than I have a reseller account with them.

I am a small reseller. I have small hosting requirements and I have been looking for a host in the $20/mo range. I have recently tried a couple of hosts found here on WHT but had many problems.

#1 bigger host couldn't figure out how to bill me correctly. They kept messing up billing.
#2 didn't answer my support emails or perldesk trouble tickets.

I just found a great one. phantasyworkshosting.com. Kind of a long name but they are great.

While searching for a new host from ones listed here on WHT, I was sending out emails to various hosts and noticed that phantasy answered questions very quickly. So I decided to check them out.

Their website: I immediately noticed that they have an 800 number (ok it's a 877#) on the front page. That is rare. They also have PHPchat where you can ask questions. Most other sites that have this always say, "Leave a message. Unavailable." Every time I have checked except one (late night), it has been available. I have chatted a few times with Terry and Terry has always been very helpful.

I signed up for a perldesk account to try out their support. I asked a lot of questions. Douglas answered them quickly. I was impressed.

So, I decided to change hosts for one of my accounts to try them out. I got the $14.99 mini reseller plan for 1GB storage & 10GIG BW per month. They have servers at NOC. Quite good ping times to my account. They bill through 2checkout which has been the best of the 3rd party billers for me.

Everything looked great. Then some trouble. Cpanel wouldn't let me park a domain because the NS hadn't changed yet. Terry on PHPchat setup it up manually for me. Phantasy was very helpful throughout the whole process.

I want to highly recommend them. Then seem to want to keep their customers after signing them up.

EDIT: There are setting up new servers at NAC. My account just got moved to a server there.

A Very Happy customer

rocketman, maybe you would like to point us to your hosting website? just so we know for sure that you're not just the product of a sneeky marketing idea of somebody at phantasy.

Let's see. A lesson in marketing droids from an engineering perspective. More hype and less facts. When someone posts about their host, I usually see something like, "Just signed up at hostABC. GREAT site and CHEAP! Take a look!" Lots of exclamation points and no info. If the text could flash, they would turn it on. Sure sign of a marketing droid.

I hope I gave enough detail about them to show I am not a marketing droid, let alone a sneeky one. A technical person will see the methodical way I evaluated them. I didn't even post a link to my site because I thought that would be self-promoting and against the rules. I just wanted to give my impressions of phantasy. They really have been great to work with. I am transferring all my accounts to them.

BTW, is there such a thing as a 'sneeky' marketing droid? The bads ones I have worked with are all slimy, not sneeky. :)
If you must see my site, feel free to PM me.

Talked to the guys at phantasyworkshosting.com they got a good thing going.

Even though the first thread starts like a typical: praise for there own company thread by stating they are not affiliated. I actually believe this one " me of all people " that it is from a happy customer.

Kind regards
Phillip

Their site is up for me. Sounds like an issue with your ISP, dror64. Great to see some positive feedback!

They would have been great if they had been able to get their front page extensions working properly.

yeah frontpage is a pain in the butt  I never liked frontpage anyways when I used it cause with most the host it never worked right and I found dreamweaver is so much better :stickout:

I have been with them just over a month now. I know not very long. But I have found that during the initial setup and transfer of my accounts to a new host, that is when you find out really what you have. Cpanel acting weird, need name servers to default differently, etc. and you need support quickly. They have answered and solved everything within an hour, a lot of times within 10 minutes.

I am moving all my customers to them during Thanksgiving.

I really tried to figure out a way to post and not sound like a marketing droid. You see this kind of stuff so much you automatically get suspicious. But I really do like them and want them to stick around. Hence the plug.

Nice to see some kindness going around out there. Some of these threads are pretty vicious.

No, those servers are at DCJN. That's not NAC. Hope they're not promoting servers in NAC. If they are, they might want to change that part. :)

Might want to change that text on your network page too. It gives me a headache trying to read it. :eek3: :D

Aw jeez...here I was thinking DCJN was NAC...

Is there a DCJN website or something? Or is DCJN just a pwebtech thing?

I'd do some research on this one if I was you. It's not quite the same. There are some similarities. Ask your providers. :)
