Hi,

So I am changing my host over to sharkspace (thank god) and the host ive been using for a couple months let me create a subdomain, then using DNS Zone Editor I could give it an 'A Record' to an IP.

With CPanel I setup a subdomain and put the redirect as the IP and when I go to the subdomain, the IP address shows in the webpath. (Takes you from tcadmin.brutalservers.net to http://74.63.64.63)

I would like to mask this so it still shows as tcadmin.brutalservers.net but seems CPanel doesnt have a way to do so. When I contacted support they told me to use an iframe redirect (Wow, really?) so I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to do this properly using cpanel.

Hi,

From my point of view it is not possible. That is how the internet works:

1) a request going to check the reverse IP and to find out to what IP the domain is pointed.
2) you are being send to IP of the domain and domain name shown in your browser command line.

I just set that up using HELM. Works fine...

I just need to know how to do the same thing in CPanel.

The subdomain redirect feature in cPanel doesn't modify DNS, instead it works using Apache. Hence you see the the IP address rather than a hostname.

If your web hosting provider is using cPanel/WHM 11.25 and has provided you with the advanced DNS editor (disabled by default), you can add your own DNS entry as you apparently did on another control panel.
