Just wondering why everyone needs a super hero on their hosting page these days? Is that what it takes to get an edge, someone to save you from hosting woes?

I guess it's to make the web host look "big" in general. Reputable, reliable and trustworthy are connotations for a hero.

This may be true, but on the other end of the spectrum it also reminds one of children/childish things. Seems like a double edged sword.

Well they can't all have Poindexter (SingleHop's frog) so I guess super heroes are the next best thing! ;)

We felt a super hero was the best look for our name Hawk Host. If it was some less intimidating animal I'm sure we wouldn't be using a super hero look.

That's like saying if your hanging from a building and you see Spiderman you know your going to die.

A superhero is a positive aspect, showing they are there to save the day for you if anything happens, not save THEIR day if anything happens.

I use a animal (Monkey), hint 'host monkey', but it doesn't mean the monkey is going to swing in and catch you at the last second.

That's what happens when you let the marketing department play its games. It doesn't have to take very long for everybody to have superheroes with unlimited powers offering unlimited everything. :P
