View Full Version : How to open an SEO web hosting Company?
ariyes 10-05-2009, 11:19 AM Hi
I am totally New in this Hosting Industry. But I want to open an SEO web hosting company like HostGator SEOHosting. Which provide the Different C Class IP's and hosting. Can any body tell me where from I start, What i need to do or any learning tutorial that describe how to open a SEO web hosting company?
[I was search this forum and i find some useful Thread but not that what i want. There is 1 guy who is interested to open a home base web hosting company for his clients but many people suggest him to buy a reseller or VPS hosting (I know this is a good suggestion for him) but I really dont want to buy any reseller or VPS. I want to open my own SEO web hosting company!]
I really appreciate your suggestion.
Thanks
Kayes :)
todo1419 10-05-2009, 12:13 PM Hey
You would need at least a VPS with multipule IPs. SEO hosting is a nice niche but you would really need to know what you are doing. The cost of unique IPs can be expensive, and each client will require one for each site. There are of course ways to split IPs and buy them in blocks.
Here is what you would need to at least get started..
1: Dedicated/VPS server with many IP blocks. (100-300 + IPS per month)
2: Company formation (ie: domain name, branding, LLC? licenses) (200-20000)
3: Company web site, this would need to be custom and unique to stand out from the crowd. Display your unique niche and SEO market. (500+)
There is a lot to take into consideration when starting a business, i suggest writeing up a business plan, checking out other similar business to see how they are working and of course get some feedback from potential clients about the service you are looking to offer.. is there a great need?
This is just a fraction, but the rewards are great if you do it right.
Best of luck
Martyn
ariyes 10-05-2009, 01:03 PM Thanks for your nice reply. Its really helpful. I have some question below.
1. Where from i will buy that IP blocks?
2. Is it possible to Buy 1 VPS/dedicated hosting from any reputed company and open the SEO hosting company?
HostColor 10-05-2009, 06:08 PM I'm a little bit skeptical that you would make it without spending a lot. You should be able to purchase dedicated servers or VPS, but the IP's will not be yours and will cost you a lot. To provide SEO hosting you need an infrastructure, it is not a service to provide as reseller.
SkyNetHosting 11-24-2009, 11:15 AM Hello,
I would recomend to start small with a reseller account that offer SEO IP's or dedicated server. If you are lucky some providers may offer you about 5-20 Blocks of IP's to start with.
I wouldn't recommend a VPS or a low end dedicated server as most providers wont even bother to offer multiples IP blocks for a low end VPS or a server except if you are willing to purchase whole /24's.

May I ask (to help you in my next response) what experience you currently have with search engine optimization?
larwilliams 11-24-2009, 08:19 PM It is sad that some people still believe IP addresses and location have anything to do with SEO.
SEO hosting is nothing more than a scam, as any SEO expert (like Google's own Matt Cutts) will tell you that SEO and ranking depend on 2 main factors.
1) The structure, coding and content of your site.
2) The number, quality and relevancy of incoming links to your site.
The rest is mostly related to content included within <strong> tags, page titles, meta keywords/description, etc. This is perhaps a bit oversimplified, but it is true.
AGAIN: IPs have nothing to do with SEO or ranking.

Try working with many other hosting providers and sell bits of their accounts to your SEO hosting client base.
Most providers offer unlimited stuff nowadays right? Say if you sign up with 10 $5/Mo hosting accounts, that will cost you $50/mo right.
Now, if you can sell one 10 IPs SEO accounts for $10/Mo, how many clients will get you to break even? FIVE, only 5! Holy moly!
But can you only sell 5 accounts off these 10 hosting accounts you have? No way, you can sell say 50 accounts, why not?
That will make you a decent $500/Mo out of your $50/Mo cost. Compelling, yes indeed.
Now the question is, where would you find the customers? PPC? AdWords? Bad choice, try Warrior Forums... that will get you busy.
Always think outside the box, don't follow what others are doing, be yourself, be the head and not the tail, be the light and the salt of this world ;)
Good luck mate!

I've tried to explain this to customers and it just doesn't work. Most just threaten to move elsewhere if we don't give them IPs but without justification they are SOL.
Superstitions are almost impossible to kill.
Vinayak_Sharma 12-03-2009, 06:34 AM I am not sure how good they are, but you can have a look at HostNine, they offer a WorldWide reseller hosting so it's not just different class C but also different geographic locations.
