What about RDNS/DNS management? Seems like abunch of the newer cp's are lacking support for it. Whats the status on that?

Normally the RDNS is provided by the datacenter admins for specific IPs. It won't be configured within your server . Also for DNS it is possible we have templates for web based DNS management portal.

I mean as in giving the user control of their own dns. thats what we want. Theres an abundance of DC's that give this to their clients. I realize that HyperVM maybe dead + reviving + who really knows, but that was one nice feature of their CP.

DC's give integration panel options within their framework. This can not be expected to be provided by such panels as above. WHM/CPanel dont even provide RDNS management. Of course as the OP mentioned DNS management is provided in templates (that I assume can be edited).

DNS management template is one of our VPS template. It Have a custom configured dns management portal. Basically a BIND management template. So you can point name servers to this template based VPS after that you can manage its dns from web interface of that template :)
