Fishy story from Scarlet Beach (scarletbeach.com).

several weeks ago they told me that they had a HDD crash and had to move servers. this took 10 days to sort out in the meantime i lost clients. got this sorted them 5 days ago got an urgent message from them telling me to back up everything, so i passed this onto my own clients, then later that day got a message saying panic over, they thought they were about to get a DDOS attack and might have had to take the server down.
The following moring turned on my computer to be met with over 100 clients messages to why their sites were down, checked and yest everything down even scarlet beach site after a frantic 24 hours they did reply to say they had a HDD crash and was working on it (strange 2 in a month and this one on a new server)within 24 hours i noticed their site showed the WHMCS down fort maintainence message, but then this vanished to be left with a server not found notice and in the browser bar it shows "http://be.myreliableserver.com/suspended.page/" i know the server is online because i still have the setup in my WHMCS server area. they use wired tree which will not give any info, but it looked like the HDD crash was a ploy and they have done a runner.

No matter what happens this is real bad for your reputation as a reseller of their service; hence the reason i always tell you have to find a true hosting partner; not just a service.

Hope you indeed had all the backups and are able to move on now; 2 hdd crashes can happen; but this all sounds a bit strange.

they last contact i had with them was when i paid my invoice for CE on 22 sept when it was not due until 27 sept to cover 27/9 til 27/10, but i have several clients request CE so on 25 sept i cancelled and got my own CE licences, but they refused to refund, even though i cancelled before due date. they even said i would not be able to claim through paypal as it is an intangible item, but i claimed through paypal and today recieved the $6.
i may see if newedge have any idea if they have cancelled their account with them.

Dont know if their paypal acct is active but it took my money on the 19th think i willdo a charge back too as it used to say 99% uptime and it has not keept their promise anyway. If newedge cancelled their account it means they are gone :-(

This is what i received from wired tree:
As much as I would like to help you, I cannot provide you with the information that you have requested. It is our client's responsibility to fulfil any obligations concerning availability of data to you. I would sincerely like to help you but providing you with any data from a server that we run for a client would be a serious breach of security. This will need to be resolved through the company that you are paying to host your data. If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know but my hands are tied in this situation.I would really like to help you but we would offer you the same privacy if you were our client. Additionally, "mydomain" does not resolve to any server on our network. I am sorry but I cannot help you.

Well.... it doesnot resolves because i change servers.... well we are left in the dark...

If i were you i would send wired tree this

"i would inform your managers/owners do they realize that their legal
fees will begin at around $50,000 to $100,000 IF i decide to sue wired tree
over this.

The files etc are my legal property and i want them back as i am legally
entitled to."

What a stupid post.

The individual is not a CUSTOMER of wiredtree and as such they have -0- obligation to you.

Please tell where in here he payed Wired Tree for services ?

Any file that is placed on the server is the property of whoever placed it on the server, so under UK and USA law, we are fully entitled to get our property back from whoever holds the server.

they still have an active CE reseller licence, but when i reported this to newedge their reply was

"Okay Terry, anyway we will be cancelling his account only when he opens a support ticket with us by requesting the same. We are not intended to interfere any matter regarding their business or Paypal related things. Thank you."

so in effect they activly allow fraudsters to use their services.

Do we have enough information to bring this further to the court?

And Tucows requires an active company site to be reseller. As scarletbeach.com is an inactive site this can be reported right?

easyhost, I saw you wrote this at ebay:
SUPER Fast Service and Great Communication

I think we all thought so until now. It was great while it lasted.
From Ebay I can also see one of my resellers cancelled to buy a package from him at ebay.

Greatvisionhost.com had his customers with scarletbeach until now it seems, but was able to migrate, maybe he has some helpful information for us.

for some reason i think scarlet knew what they were doing as the day before they went down got a message telling me to back up everything urgently, then latter that day i got another message saying panic over, they managed to block a DDOS attack, so i relayed this to all my clients then tyhe next norning i turn on my comp to over 100 messages from clients to say their sites were down. it took 3 days to get any reply from scarlet to say that they had a HDD crash (2nd in 1 month), but then i got nothing from them.
