1) Download http://www.atomicmass.net/removensim.zip
2) Unzip file
3) Upload file
4) Run file using "./FILENAME"

The script will do the rest.

Go about and remove them using "rm".

Also restart the box.

Heh, didn't expect to see a link to my personal site on WHT; but since I updated that script to uninstall 3.1.1 ...it SHOULD have uninstalled everything. The only exception being that rpm does save some files and directories when certain rpm files are removed.

What exactly is still on the system? rpm files, backups of conf files and such created by rpm? Try running updatedb if you're using locate to find these files.

Try something like this though:

rpm -qa | grep ensim
rpm -qa | grep webppliance

You shouldn't get any results to either of those commands.

Ensim integrates itself tightly with the system it's on. That said, it's not advisable that you use a "script" or anything of the like to uninstall it as you will more than likely screw it up. If you don't want ensim, don't have it installed on the server, it's pretty much that simple.

If you want ensim uninstalled, you'd better resort to having someone that knows what they're doing with operating systems and the like to do it, because, again, you'll screw up your system quicker than anything.

Most of the scripts and the like that exist for removing Ensim are just that, quite out of date, because Ensim itself is quite out of date.

Bio, I suggest that if you want to keep your business running smoothly you hire a professional administrator. They're out there, you just have to look. If you're not willing to invest the money it takes to have your server setup and run correctly, you'll run into HUGE problems down the road when some of these script kiddies get ahold of your system and start ripping it apart. Believe me, they will too.

Dont be scary. You won't get any problems with ensim removing, if you remember to reinstall SSH server and restart it. And always have telnet as a backup!!! =)

Wow this is an old one...

I put it back up at http://www.atomicmass.net/removensim.zip but keep in mind it hasn't been updated since 2002 so there's a good chance it may not work any more.
