AmericanD 11-16-2002, 12:04 AM I just saw on the webhostingradio site about dedicatednow.com .... what do u guys have to say about them ? anyone knows them ? The guy is called Jay also from Pwebtech.com and mehost.com ?
i was just curious on this new provider

Got my server and testing it out, can't say much right now. I got my server 30 minutes late which I don't mind. Pretty good speeds. I'll keep you all updated.

also there is no contact information about them apart from email.. not even their physical address on the website.

But by no means is dedicatednow.com new. It is a wholly owned subdivision of pegasus web technologies who has been doing hosting since 1997.

jayglate 11-16-2002, 07:15 AM You have the option to get cpanel. But if you don't need support RS might be a better deal. But if you need support, I would say you might be better off with a provider that provide the level of support that you need.

microsol 11-16-2002, 09:31 AM I woke up this morning just to find that the login doesn't work and I can't access the server. Ticket open since 2 1/2 hours. No reply yet. Lucky that it's not so urgent to login.

The server is fast and stable so far.
Matt and Jay have been very helpful, I talked with them on AIM. I have submitted a support ticket regarding revDNS and it was answered pretty fast, I think it was about 2-3 hours.
I can recommend DedicatedNow services to everyone, even with set-up fee it's still very good deal.

phantasywork 11-16-2002, 01:28 PM Cant really comment so far tech support has been slow for me , calling them is pointless , I have 2 servers and 1 works , the other one doesnt cause it's down :(
They didnt add my 2 class c blocks that I paid for in setup ethier :bawling: so I am stuck with 4 ips on each server til I can get some answers
The server that works is great , speedy :) , but the server I need to be up is down and I can't get anyone to answer the darn phone :(
Just noticed I also paid for 512 mb ram upgrade on each server to give each ser 1 gig ram and the one that's up only has 512 mb , I would assume the other one is that way also but can't confirm.
Also 2nd Hardrives , which I paid for on each server is missing also , I realize they pumped out a lot of servers but I woulda rather waited to have all my stuff installed than to be missing stuff.

ho247 11-17-2002, 07:18 AM I've just taken management of one of DedicatedNOW servers for a client and have found the network speeds to be very impressive aswell as the server specs. So far, the server is stable... I would recommend them since they are a company that have been in the web hosting business for sometime now and not just a new company.

Hmm, yesterday morning I opened a trouble ticket #49764 at tech@dedicatednow.com (5am your time).
I thought it's early so I had patience.
No answer.
At 12 am your time i've sent another email to tech@dedicatednow.com under the same ticket number.
No answer.
One hour later i've sent an email to matt@pwebtech.com.
No answer.
At 8pm i've sent my last email to support@dedicatednow.com.
No anwer.
All the mails i've sent included the original thread (your welcome email with the wrong login).
Now I've sent another email. It's now two days after the promised setup date for me.
Calling also doesn't help as never anyone picks the phone up.

How about my box ? My CC was paid to Pegasus at 11/15/2002 done. But now, I till can not access my box or WHM. Why ? :D :mad: :D

Well Jay and I exchanged several emails and it appears to be a switch or NIC card. They are working on this issue now.
Thats what I call service. Reply to my support ticket in under five friggin minutes. I think I like this.
I will update again when this speed issue is resolved.
But so far, two thumbs up for DN!

also, as you might have noticed, they were kind enough to extend the deadline for ordering and set up more servers than originally posted in the special. chances are that your server is one of those that got ordered late/over the limit, so you have gotten a break - return the favor.

Looks like things are getting fixed.
What you've got to remember, too, is they've set up tons of boxes and spent countless hours testing their Internet connections. Not everything is going to be as smooth as cream pie.
I've had my boxes up since Friday, and I've no complaints. Since Pegasus has been around awhile, I'm not too worried about them closing up.

no, they need to be given leeway because thay have honored their awesome special beyond the original limits (both time and quantity-wise), which caused the extra load.

In my case I can't agree to the above. After login in I found Cpanel installed. I got ashured that no Cpanel would be installed if I didn't order it. I didn't but got a Cpanel box (2 days later because their root login didn't work) for which I don't have any use. Waiting since morning for a clean RH install. This makes for me now 4 days OVER the limit.
To be clear: I ordered the box on 11th and got ashured to have a RH box on the 15th. I get an welcome email with the passwords only to find that it doesn't work. No way to get the login until the 17th and only to find out that they have setup a Cpanel box for me for which I don't have any use.
Any reason to be happy?

I guess these things can happen. So I will just have to wait untill the second one is ready.

I got my server speed issues corrected and I am very impressed with these guys so far.
I got three IM's from them after they corrected the issue just making sure it was done right.
Then a email from Matt making things right with the billing.
I cant ask for much more than that.

That is what they told me. In the email they wrote that they are doing tests on the box and when they are completed they will give me the box. I don't know when but I hope it will be soon becuase this is now 5 day afer the deadline.

SuzanneB 11-19-2002, 09:38 PM Everything has gone well for us, once we received the login info. We only had one minor issue, but I was able to find the resolution on cpanel.net and tend it myself. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing a customer support forum for us in the next few weeks. I was afraid to leave VO, I've been spoiled by their level of support. But I feel good about choosing DedicatedNow and I think things will go smoothly from here on out.
I was soo happy with my server.
Other than a little slow setup time (a week, but I understand they are busy), the server is awesome. The network speed is excellent, and the servers are great.
The only other thing is that they don't post enough info on their web site. I talked to Jay and he said they will have boards soon.
I finally got my extra IPs. Thanks Matt! :D
