Hello All:

Has anyone used "DSmanager" yet to manage their racks, especially for remote server reboots, remote Linux OS installs, and server bandwidth graphing?
We saw their description on their site at http://ispsystem.com/en/software/dsmanager/ -- then emailed them for further info regarding required hardware (e.g. for remote reboots), but no answer (within 48 hours). This seems to be a Russian company, and "DSmanager" seems rather new. So again ... anyone is using this and might want to share their experiences?

Some time back we used NOCwizard for a while, but that was a pretty useless piece of software.
We look for NOC software that does -- in this order of importance:
(a) remote Linux OS installs
(b) remote reboots
(c) bandwith graphing
We do all this with various scripts and hardware, but would really appreciate if we could do this with some advanced script that would also make it easier to have customers, and possibly dedicated server resellers, access such script. Other than "DSmanager" -- any good suggestions (with reasonabe pricing)?

Thanks!

I have not used DSmanager but I have used VDSmanager and the software is VERY VERY VERY limited, and the development team was reluctant to change any of its mechanisms. Even when making suggestions on how to improve, they dismissed the idea, stating how it currently operates, without any sign that they will research or look into implementing the feature.

I hope things have changed, but just beware. Things are ran very very slow there.

Thanks for that, Ken. ISPsystem seems to have decided not to respond at all to my rather straightforward question -- that in itself gives me a warning.

It's very strange! I emailed them yesterday. ISPsystem responded to my questions during 10 minutes.

My question was finally answered ... if you want to consider that an answer ... after 4 or 5 days: Asking about what hardware was needed to use their software's (a) remote reboot function and to do (b) remote Linux installs the reply were two words: "Any *hardware*." Nothing else, no explanation whatsoever. We don't really pay for mysteries.

Yea...last time I emailed them, it took them a number of days to answer and it came along with an attitude too...as if I was not supposed to be asking them questions. LOL
