Hi,
I think you should offer a WHT chatroom as well as the forum would be a nice addition :)

I was in favour of a chat room until i got the members opinions on it. JonL 11-17-2002, 04:35 AM I think the text would be scrolling by too quickly to have a decent conversation ;) Just look how many people are on the forum at such late hours of the night! case 11-26-2002, 06:18 PM well one chat room maybe over kill , but if we had several related to the forums here on the site , it might work out . As far as it not working , i dont see why it wouldnt . tagalaxy.net 11-26-2002, 08:57 PM i'd personally be for it, but it aint up to me. Long as it was IRC based, not one of those other 3rd party programs.. Akash 11-26-2002, 09:50 PM Arguments against it: 1) no moderation 2) less posts on WHT 3) $$$: RS needs more $$$ so we'd probably end up seeing more ads progex 11-26-2002, 09:54 PM I agree that there could be an IRC-based chat room. It can easily be moderated, just as the hundreds of moderated chat rooms. There may be a slightly less post count if a chat room was established, but what is the purpose of WHT? Isn't it to educate and inform those needing information? A chat room would be a quick and easy way to redirect someone to information fast. In response to #3, who cares if they're going to have an ad in a chat room (as long as it's reasonable). :) Akash 11-26-2002, 10:06 PM A chat room would be a quick and easy way to redirect someone to information fast. This works wonders :) (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=) but what is the purpose of WHT? To discuss webhosting on a forum :) In response to #3, who cares if they're going to have an ad in a chat room (as long as it's reasonable). Reasonable varies depending on who you talk to. IMO, what we have now is the limit. I don't like ads that intrude on my browsing experience. kitty-kat 11-29-2002, 03:10 AM Some site's give out free Chatroom scripts! I doubt you would want that though? case 12-02-2002, 07:05 PM what about a compuserve hosted chatroom ? tagalaxy.net 12-02-2002, 07:36 PM just make an IRC based room. If people want to connect, they can use an IRC client. If demand is high enough, there are plenty of good Java IRC applets around, but its not neccessary adam 12-03-2002, 01:19 AM Im all for the chat room idea.. |
