I'm looking to have an Exchange account hosted so I can have push emails on my iPhone - I can either sign up for an Exchange account or the mobileMe from Apple but I was leaning towards Exchange.

I see that GoDaddy offers a single Exchange account for $6.99/month but I was hoping that I could find something somewhere other than GoDaddy and being that I've not dealt with/looked at Windows based products in quite some time I'm quite out of the loop.

I was hoping somebody could give me some suggestions on places to look :)

Hopefully this is the right section!

Thanks!

I see you use WHMCS, so you should have easy access to an enom account already.

Actually I have an ENOM Account but I've never used it, I prefer NEO :)

I'm trying to find something around $5/month, I only need a few megs (50mb would be great)

Well now's your chance :D Though I've never tried their exchange packs before.

I'd rather go with a smaller established company than a huge huge company (i.e. avoiding GoDaddy, Enom, etc) :)

Fair enough, maybe these guys then: http://www.sherweb.com/hosted-exchange

Been around a while it would seem, not super small, but not godaddy big either. Seem to focus on things like blackberry/exchange etc.

Nice, I'm going to put in a ticket to see if they can give me something along the lines of a 500mb account for a bit cheaper. I'm not sure if Exchange is licensed on a per-account basis which would in effect set a minimum monthly cost to make a profit.

I'll keep my eyes open for other providers :)

Please do let me know how it works out :) Curious, my blackberry is thirsty for such things! :D

Mike,

You can get in touch with Jay/Mike at Handy Networks. Though they do not publicly advertise this product, they do provide hosted exchange solutions which are as solid as their other products and I am sure you can work out best deal for your requirements.

I would go with either
http://www.rackspace.com/email_hosting/exchange_hosting
or
http://www.intermedia.net/exchange-hosting/soho-exchange-hosting/pricing.asp

I have tried both, and they have been pretty good.

I know Mike from HandyNetworks - I'll definitely shoot him an IM :)

While visiting RackSpace and looking over that page the LiveChat window popped up 3 times (after having clicked the X 3 times I just left the site)... Irritating.

CartikaHosting too offers Hosted Exchange, single account seems to be priced at $13.99 and they seems to be having good reputation here.

Google announced the ability to use push email via Exchange ActiveSync so as of now I'm doing that for free :)

We'll see how reliable this is.

Actually, that's the incorrect plan. You should be looking at the Individual Plus Mobile plan, which retails for 9.99

Actually either one will work, because the phone just connects like outlook would - now it seems BlackBerries need something special configured which does require the upgraded plan.

I did test and verify that it worked on the cheaper plan with an iPhone but I'm using Gmail now with their exchange push :)

Strange. With your iPhone and gd personal plan you are sure you were using ActiveSync and not IMAP?

If you connect to gmail with outlook and create an appt in Outlook calendar will it sync over the air with your iphone?

I'm genuinely curious about this.

They're not bad. I have an account with them. I haven't had any problems. My friend also uses them, and as far as I know he hasn't had any problems either.

I am not sure if you really want to host your private emails on google (just think about their privacy policy) but it is your choice.

It isn't anything private - just push notifications "New Ticket" "New Ticket Response" "New Order" - no details just the notifications themselves :)
