Does anyone know the logic behind ICANNs rule regarding not adding a year to a domain registration if it's transferred within 45 days of renewing at the losing registrar? I have only run into this recently, when moving a new client's name from Register.com to Enom and discovering it didn't increment the expiration.
Is this something similar to the 60 days waiting period for newly registered names and transfers? I don't quite see the logic, and I'm out a reg/transfer fee seemingly for nothing.
