I want to buy web hosting but I don't know what to buy first. I'm planning to get my hosting from 'phantasyworkshosting.com'. Now, what do I buy first, the DOMAIN NAME or the WEB HOSTING?

Try the web hosting service first. A lot of them do offer domain names. If not get the domain name first because a lot of them will want the domain name to set up the account. TemplateGuy 11-15-2002, 03:08 PM Phantasy does offer a domain service... :) neil 11-15-2002, 05:02 PM If you happen to stumble upon one of those deals where you buy a certain period of webhosting and get a free domain, make sure the domain is registered in *your* name. beachtrader 11-15-2002, 08:08 PM Originally posted by neil If you happen to stumble upon one of those deals where you buy a certain period of webhosting and get a free domain, make sure the domain is registered in *your* name. This is an important point to remember--the last thing you want to have happen is having your domain name be held hostage by your former host. Avoid it; if you can't it probably would be worth it to pay the small amount of money and register yourself. chrisb 11-16-2002, 02:53 AM It's always best to NOT get a domain name from a host. Go to a registrar, and get domain first. Then buy hosting. OR ask the host if you can use a subdomain, and you can always go to a registrar like godaddy.com later and purchase your domain.
