I found quite a nice host with a lot of cool things.
But their server is called serversname.theirhostingcompany.com
Is this usual for a place offering reseller accounts?
So far, which I cannot say I wasn't expecting, I've been treated somewhat rudely by this one company I'm enquiring to (They're English, never go for a place if the company/people are not located in Scotland or Ireland, you are then just looking for trouble).

I have then also checked out ten other places offering reseller accounts, all offering round about what I wanted. they all also had the servers name servername.theircompany.com
Is this normal for a company offering reseller accounts?
PLUS, do the clients mind? (and will they like really check through PHPInfo to see the servers name?)

i would imagine by the time someone is able to see what the hostname of the server they're on is set to they'll have already signed up and i doubt many people would leave over it...

still a good reselling providor should have thought of this and use generic hostnames...

I have always assumed that an anonymous hostname is the least resellers can expect due to the anonymity surrounding reseller accounts.

As for whether customers will notice, I really don't know. A few might ask you about it in which case you are very much advised to take the honest approach over any kind of deception but that is your call.

It's not getting a domain that is anonymous, it's just the hostname (the name of the server) that needs to be anonymous. The domain should be hidden so that reseller's clients do not know their provider.

Yes, but isn't the server name like this...

If the hosting company is www.***host.com then the servername would be server.***host.com

So wouldn't you have to buy an anonymous domain to provide private label solutions. server.anonymous.com
