I'm building a computer to control my digital music library as well as my digital video library to be hooked up to my big screen tv etc... but the question is.. do they make a PC TV Tuner card that supports digital cable... or am I stuck with this lovley box from the cable company forever :)

You're stuck with the box... the problem is, there are a number of different digital cable protocols, and every manufacture is different.
