We're looking for a good logo design for around $500, can anyone recommend us a designer? They don't have to be a member of this forum.

There are some good designers on 99designs but you don't get to work with the designers side-by-side which could lead to results you really don't want.

Have you considered making a request here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=142) for portfolio's and having a look around each designer?

Might be an idea if you want to get a look at the quality and style of each persons work. You could also then ask to be linked to testimonials or references for the designers (that you can then follow up).

It's a large enough budget, so you're doing the right thing by asking the community before picking someone.

I would try LogoTournament.com, you can bid on a Logo and get hundreds of designs. I have used them twice with great sucess. Just be specific on what you are looking for in your design.

Donīt go to 99designs, donīt waste your money. A lot of low quality designs is not good for your business.

design contest sites, you are simply paying for a bigger selection, not better quality, at the rates required you would be better off working with an individual company or freelancer with a portfolio.

I'm going to go against what many here are saying and say I've had excellent luck with 99designs. You could expect several dozen submissions for around $500 with unlimited free revisions. A guaranteed contest draws in some serious talent.

Hi,

I would like to recommend http://www.webnoxs.com
Never used them but they offer anything and everything related to graphic design and web, the good thing is there pricing is good and you'll be dealing with a company not a freelance designer in a same price.

Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks,
Alex

I recommend getting a freelance designer. They are cheap, will create a custom/unique site and can work side by side with them throughout the process. Make sure you both sign a legal contract so all is clear on both ends.
