We are a host located in NY and I was wondering if someone can give us insight on how to handle sales tax.

Thanks in advance.

Because this can be a sticky issue with the state, I would check with a local accountant. Make sure they know about tech and hosting as each state's rules are different. You are providing a service, not selling a product. Some states tax services and some don't.

I don't think NY does, but I would still ck with your accountant rather than trusting your behind to a discussion board. Penalties for non-compliance can be expensive.

rushik,

I'm no tax expert, I only know what my Accountant has us do.
(though one would be best served to consult their accountant rather than follow any advice on any web site)

As I'm in NY I can't really speak for IL tax regulations
