I am having problems with my server, I do not believe it is DNS.

DNS is completly setup, and everything is working fine for the web. The domain name servers and everything are setup, and even the domain name works when you type it in the browser etc.......

Now here is the main problem (just clearing up that DNS and domain are working fine over the web).

I cannot login to FTP using the domain name, it says it cannot resolve the host name. But when I type in the IP it works fine. Now the even worse problem is EMAIL will not work at all either, it says it cannot resolve the host name mail.domain.com

Now, just yesterday email was working fine, but now it decided to quit on me? Seems like a load of crap too me....

DNS is setup fine, because domains works, email "used" to work this morning. But the FTP never did work unless I use IP.

Any suggestions? Have you experienced this problem before and know what to do? Please help......

Thanks, Chris

According to the RaQ3 user manual http://www.cobalt.com/support/pdf/raq3manual.pdf page 159 (presuming you've set the host name to "www"):

In the following examples, we will configure a sample domain called "mydomain.com" for Web service and e-mail service using a sample IP address 192.168.10.10. IMPORTANT: Substitute your domain name and IP address where the sample domain name or sample IP address appears. The recommended minimum configuration for Web and e-mail service requires these records:

- An Address (A) Record for mydomain.com which points to 192.168.10.10
- An Address (A) Record for www.mydomain.com which points to 192.168.10.10
- A Mail Server (MX) Record for mydomain.com which points to www.mydomain.com
- A Reverse Address (PTR) record for 192.168.10.10 which points to mydomain.com

===

That works fine on my server.

Login admin controal panel, check network setting under "control panel" function. Whether or not your primary name server and secondary name server is still kept there. Save network setting again may help.
