From my horrible experiences with AIT (aitcom.net)(see below), I went to Media 3 (media3.net) The unmetered bandwidth was certainly an induncement Unfortunately, they too ahve their major share of problems. the Unix/Linux servers lack any kind of control panel, so any changes or additions, like e-mail addresses, must be done by them. That's the problem. They take too long forget, and you need to stay on them. It's a small company owned by two brothers and in some cases, only one person in technical support can performs some of the required tasks. They cost one of my customers about a $1000 in lost sales by not setting up their e-mail address forwarding in a timely manner. I didn't even get an apology (I don't think any of these companies ever apologize for their mistakes).

This is one of the companies that advertises a lot and is thus highly rated by most of the phony rating companies where paid advertising gets them a good rating. I learned the truth of that after my experiences with AIT.

Any time there is a change or correction, I have to follow up and make sure iot gets done, and done properly. They just don't seem to care enough to do a good job. My next move will be to a dedicated server, and thanks to this site, will likely be able to choose a company that offers good service to its customers.

With so many hosting plans available out there where you can set up your email yourself why would you even choose a company that did not have this feature?

Not a criticism but I am very curious as to why?

Two reasons, they have unmetered bandwidth (my site was growing and costing more and more) and they were flexible enough to negotiate a really dood deal on setup charges for all the domains I transferred and others I continue to add. I figured competition being what it is, they would get around to adding a control panel, but as I discovered later, they have no sense of urgency about anything. Tuesday will be two weeks since I requested they add 3 domains to their name servers so they will be active. I'm still waiting.

I found a freeware control panel and let them know about it, so they have no excuses now. However, I'm moving to a dedicated server soon so I won't ever have to deal with the rotten service I've encountered at the last two hosting companies. I know some people who have used 18 different companies and are still looking for a good one.
