I had a user that exceeded his quota. When I attempted to change it, I got "password file is locked". I checked this forum and the Cobalt knowledgebase. I cd'ed into /etc/locks. There was two files, ptmp and monitor. I deleted ptmp.
When I tried to add the user, I got the message, cannot lock smbpasswd.
I tried the delete the user, adding a new user, and keep on running into the password file is locked.
How can I fix this?
After I deleted the user, the user disappeared from the gui. But if I try to add the user, I get a duplicate user message.
