headsurfer 11-14-2002, 08:30 AM With all due respect, where you list a price that requires a 1 year prepayment, that should probably be listed as such, do you not think?
Vline 11-14-2002, 11:53 AM Yeah you are really only pushing traffic to your site your add is very false as you quote the prices in monthly terms I dont want to flame you and understand you are running a business and If you get a martket with them prices I dont think it would be from WHT.
We all know that the Giants in the market
rackshack
rackspace
unitedcolo (yuk)
charge monthly prices you should look into it.
I really do think buying a server at a yearly rate is a good idea but adverting it in such a way that it looks like you take monthly payments kinda sux.

dhecht 11-14-2002, 02:17 PM Yes, you are right. Usually I have an asterisk at the bottom but I must have been overly excited about the special offer.
It does say "from" and there is no mention of monthly, but I could have made that clearer. If someone opts to pay on an annual basis, we do refund money on a pro-rated basis if they are unsatisfied with our service and decide to cancel.
And in our defense, it isn't really any less honest than advertising servers and then being constantly "sold out" of certain ones.
Best,
David
dhecht 11-14-2002, 02:22 PM Apologies again. In the interest of fair advertising, here are the prices if you pay on a monthly basis:
BasicPath: $199 setup, $99/mo
BusinessPath: $249 setup, $199/mo
AdvancedPath: $499 setup, $399/mo
add $49/mo for Windows 2000 Server OS
now through November 20

David -
I am not generally one to flame and get into arguments with. I try to play nice as best I can. You, however, try my patience.
I applaud your entry into this competative marketplace. It is dog eat dog. Most who enter will either start eating another dogs lunch or be eaten by another dog.
If you want to take a shot at me, you'll need to do better than that. As for me, they'll be no war of words. I'll let my actions speak for me :)
Woof. Woof.
Robert
dhecht 11-14-2002, 04:28 PM I didn't mean it as a flame.
I just mean that sometimes bait and switch advertising is a matter of interpretation.
We should all be so lucky to be the occasional victim of our own company's success.
Best,
David:D
