 | View Full Version : Webreseller server down? twrs 11-13-2002, 03:03 PM Two of my Webreseller servers are down at the moment and they said there's an emergency equipment failure. My servers had been up for a few months and now they have to start again :D crmi 11-14-2002, 12:41 AM Two of my machines were rebooted today -- unfortunately, one of them is the box that hosts DNS for all of my machines. What a blunder that turned out to be, as named did not come back up after the reboot. As a result for nine hours I lost around two million pageviews until I got home tonight and was able to restart the DNS. Sloppy sysadmin work on my part, I should have had the rc files tested and working properly. Also highlights a need for a little DNS redundancy with the level of traffic mine deals with. goodness0001 11-14-2002, 04:40 PM Their power supplied failed during testing and maintenance so some servers were shutoff. |
