About 1 1/2 years ago I signed-up for a dedicated server at C.I. Host (I didn't know about WHT in those days!). Anyway, after waiting over a week for a '24 hr setup' I dediced to cancel my order. Their support was useless and I only managed to get it cancelled after I threatened legal action.
Anyway, yesterday I get an email (remember this is 1.5 years after cancelling an order) that says...
Your server information and/or status have been updated in Dedicated

I tried to replied to say they must have made a big mistake, but guess what, my mail was returned undeliverable!
ROFL, C.I. Host truly are at the 'cutting edge' of support and billing!
J.
How typical of them.
When I cancelled, I first changed my bank account and CC numbers, then deleted my files before 30 days was up, so they wouldn't have backups.
They continued to send me bills for almost two years, each time adding to the last bill. How they can send a bill for a service they turned off over a year ago is beyond me.
Maybe they don't really host anymore, (all the customers have left) but are living off the incompetence of their billing dept. and people who don't thouroughly check their CC charges.

I had a shared hosting account with them once. My account was still open months after my term expired. I never took advantage of it but after the service I received, it sure was tempting. :)

What were the costs 1½ years ago? One might not want to agree to pay those by logging in and using the services. :)

I would not try to log into the server, if this were me in this situation. You don't want to give them ANY grounds for saying you actually used the server. Some will probably say that logging in does not constitute using the server, and I agree; however, it's not me that you are dealing with here.

Aren't they the ones who market heavily about their great support?

They're also a company that makes a habit of suing former customers, myself included. I just filed a countersuit against them for conspiracy and abuse of process for filing their groundless lawsuit against me in the first place.
If anyone else here has been a victim of one of their malicious lawsuits, please get in touch with me.
