View Full Version : Need help in select reseller program
ashishsuman 08-25-2009, 04:22 AM Hi Everyone!
This is my first post here in webhostingtalk. My main reason to join this community is just to find out the best suited reseller program for my requirement. I want a reseller program that can give my proper web space and bandwidth with no domain limitation, both windows and linux hosting, custom package creator for my clients, accounts manager, cpanel, WHM, domain name registration facility(or domain name reseller account), best support services and other important as well common features.
I have seen godaddy, its good. but there, I cant create my own custom packages.
I dont have much knowledge about the reseller programs. whatever I know is from google.
my budget is 20-30$. I am in no hurry just want the best program.
Thanks in Advance
Ashish

Welcome to WHT hope you will find what you are searching, looking into your specs i see some small issues you will need to figure out though, lets get on with your post and define those for you:
I want a reseller program that can give my proper web space and bandwidth with no domain limitation, both windows and linux hosting, custom package creator for my clients, accounts managerSo far so good, about any reseller can give you a proper web space and bandwidth and most dont have domain limitations (just space and bandwidth), although when looking for a mix of Windows and Linux you quickly look into a H-Sphere reseller account, as your next requirement:
cpanel, WHM, Is only available on Linux and not on windows, of course anyone using windows at their home PC can still use linux hosting
domain name registration facility(or domain name reseller account)
This some do offer, but in general it is advised to keep your domain registrations not at the same host you buy the other services from, in case something goes wrong (sadly this does happen) you can always move without loosing your domains.
, best support services and other important as well common features.
I have seen godaddy, its good. but there, I cant create my own custom packages.
Godaddy also uses an own control-panel i believe; so no cPanel/WHM features. They are however good for domain registrations; you could use them for that part.
I dont have much knowledge about the reseller programs. whatever I know is from google.
my budget is 20-30$. I am in no hurry just want the best program.
If you do not have much knowledge yet, you came to the right forums; i would advise you to read as much as you can here on WHT and see where the problems are; ask all questions you have here first (or even better use the search button to see if anyone did answer the particular questions you have).
Thanks in Advance
AshishRemember with Reseller hosting you are not looking for just a host but one who is a true partner, if they mess things up, your clients will knock on your door. Go for quality and look carefully into your needs.

This is a very good suggestion. I will definitely take it into my account while searching the reseller package.

Thats the reason I am here. Whatever we see on internet is not always true. I have seen mochahost reseller package but have not found any good review about them.
can anyone suggest some good and reliable reseller programs?

Before anyone can make you a useful recommendation which fits your needs, it might help if you tell why you ask for Linux & Windows but at the same time talk about cPanel/WHM
bdnero 08-25-2009, 07:54 AM As far I remember hostnine reseller pack have both linux & windows facility with some extra price. You may check.

I want to provide both Linux and Windows hosting to my clients. I want easy to use control panels. I have used cPanel that's why it comes first in my mind. For Windows I have used Hosting Controller which I found easy to use.

This is true. The GoDaddy hosting plans are resold like the other products (and there is a lot of revenue in those other products). This was an issue for me also, especially coming from owning my own servers. I am sure GD has a very large market research department and did not create those plans on a whim. I am curious: If GoDaddy allowed you to create your own packages what would you change about them?
eLief 08-25-2009, 10:39 AM Hi ashishsuman,
You may want to consider starting out with just one platform, either Linux or Windows, focus on growing your business in that specific area, and then decide if you still want to offer both platforms.
Starting out with both may be a bit difficult with your price range since you are looking for a higher quality reseller account. You will most likely have to purchase two separate reseller accounts(which may not be a bad idea since you could offer diverse locations).
Do you need any other extras, such as a billing system? Domain reseller account? SSL's or dedicated IP's? Any specific location in mind?
01globalnet 08-25-2009, 11:04 AM If you want both linux and windows, then h-Sphere control panel would be your best option. H-Sphere offers COMPLETE automation. You can check Cartika or Jodohost.
ItsJustHosting 08-25-2009, 12:23 PM You would likely have to start out focusing on one platform to keep initial overhead down, and the most common platform is Linux. Otherwise pretty much any host should be able to give you what you want so you have a lot of options.

First of Thanks for your reply. Actually the issue is, most of my customers just want to have online presence or portfolios that need a very small web space thats why they want to have the cheapest solution. Godaddy packages are good for business owners but not for these type of customers.

Thanks for your reply also. Thats a really good suggestion to start with either Linux or Windows hosting. We need other things also but stick with any particular location.

Thanks for your reply. I am also planning to start with Linux hosting. I have seen HostGator package. Its seems good. Does anyone have any sort experience with this host?

Smart decision.
There are dozens of HostGator reviews in this forum. I would recommend using the search feature (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) to find them.
ashishsuman 08-27-2009, 04:56 AM Thanks for your suggestion.
M Bacon 08-27-2009, 05:04 AM Host Gator is awesome. You get free templates and a free billing system that you could use for other things than web hosting. :agree:
Shakehost-Chris 08-27-2009, 07:06 AM I sugguest hostgator.com/surpasshosting.com for nice reseller deals ..
ashishsuman 09-02-2009, 10:47 PM Thanks for your replies and your precious time. WHT is really a problem solving place. Thanks to all of you.
