Hello,

I have an IP phone sitting around that I would like to get setup with a phone service for the company. I used to have a number setup, along with a digital receptionist through 3cx. This did not want to work remotely (it was on a VPS in Atlanta) and only seemed to work if the server was local. I'm not sure if this was problems with the phone, or the firewall - or simply that 3cx is made in-house phone systems.

Anyways, are there services out there that offer something related to 3cx where I can setup a personal recording, extensions, etc. etc. so when people call they will be directed to the correct department? Am I better off trying to setup my own VPS with something or go through a provider? Any information on this subject is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure if you are looking for something like RingCentral.com .

Possibly. Would this be the better route to go? I see on your website, you have a phone number - if you don't mind me asking, do you have any type of system setup?

I'm wondering if setting up my own server would be the better route, that way I have full control over everything, but maybe starting with a PBX provider would be a better route?

Thanks for the quick response and suggestion :)

What type of call volume are you receiving currently?

It may be easier to start with a PBX provider and gauge how things are 3 months out.
