View Full Version : ReveCom questions
ArtiMan 11-12-2002, 02:00 PM I have a couple of questions realted to being an international customer.
Will Revecom send money by check to International customers and if so do they charge anything for this?
Can you set a minimum amount before they pay or set another timeframe than once a week? (Our local bank will charge us for each check processed and keeping it to once a month would be the best.)
If you're using recurring payments, is there any way that Revecom allows you to let a customer skip a months payment.

You can receive a check, but I get ours each week by wire transfer.

Yes. I think you need to request this feature to be activated before you can set a "Minimum Settlement Amount"

Not really. You could just refund a recurring transaction. That would have the same effect.

Yes they send it by check.
There is something you must request from them called "Minimum Settlement Value" means that they don't send you the check before it reaches that amount.
I f.e. needed that cause bank charged me 45$ (!) per check in fees (clearance etc) AND it takes ages too. So I agreed with them if the checks are no lower then 500$ they will "only" charge me 20$

That will depend on your bank of course. My own bank only charges $10 for an international check. Through wires though it doesn't cost a cent.

REALLY?!? Damn! I am with the HSBC here in Greece (the same bank THEY use too)
NexDog 11-13-2002, 07:59 AM International wire transfers cost. I guess Greg lives in US/Canada where the wire would be free.
We also get paid from Revecom once a week by wire. They are really good. The cash is there every Friday - never seen it late once.
akashik 11-13-2002, 08:18 AM Oh the wire transfer costs me $10 but that's at paysystems end. Once it gets to my bank there isn't a fee from them as well.

Yep, same here. Now if they can just get their recurring system all fixed up, I'll be one happy camper again.

Is this the same recurring problem that is talked about in
this (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85923) thread, and if so, what is taking so long for it to be fixed?

Yep. The recurrings are coming in but they're eratic and not as ordered as they were previously. Something's still not right.

incompetance in my opinion :)

Chuggles 11-13-2002, 11:50 AM I can't believe it would take weeks to fix something this important. It has me a bit concerned since they were recommended as one of the best.
Do they give an explanation as to what went wrong and when it is going to be resolved?
I am a bit leary on obtaining a merchant account because I do not want the responsibility of people's credit card information and the fraud checking, but it makes you wonder if it is better to just do it yourself in the long run.
akashik 11-13-2002, 11:56 AM no explanation, and the answer to when it'll be fixed is always "Tomorrow, or the next day". They've been saying that for over a week now though so I don't believe a word of it anymore.
Safe to say that if any webhosting company showed the same lack of regard for keeping their customers informed, they'd be going out of business quick smart

Chuggles 11-13-2002, 01:44 PM I spoke with a sales person today and mentioned this issue and my concerns. They said the IT department is aware of the issue and expect to have it settled in the next day or two.
Yeah, right.
I am beginning to wonder if there is some financial issue behind this because it does not make sense to me why this is taking so long.
I enquired about their merchant account and they said that those with their IMA account were not affected by this, because the business owner would have to have their own drivers to initiate recurring billing. Also the same payment methods are available for IMA accounts as IBA accounts.
Is ModernBill something that could handle the recurring billing? Does modern bill have the "drivers" you need to do recurring billings?
Also is anyone using PaySystems (IBA) thinking of leaving with this long delay? I am trying to decide whether this is a one time thing. I read somewhere a couple of months ago that check orders were not recurring so this recurring problem is not new - it's old....but that's my two cents. :)

Technically yes, as the IMA system uses the same idea of a gateway. Modernbill doesn't have the scripting to use paysystems though. I e-mailed them about it and was ready to supply all the info they needed to have it added. I got no response from them so I presume they're not interested.
