Hi!

I am just a newbie Reseller using only Unix Server. There are some inquiries regarding ASP/Windows Hosting. You, as a reseller, Is it wise and worth it to also offer Win2K/ASP Hosting? In my case, another reseller account is needed.

Thanks in advance.

It depends... do you think you are losing a good amount of income by not offering Windows hosting? Think about the costs, both monetary and not, that Windows servers have...

Windows servers require a lot more reboots than Linux
Cusomters have more problems getting things to work
You spend a lot more time handling support for Windows
etc
etc
etc

And you have proof of this? Perhaps you have been with a bad Windows host. No offence but Windows is a very stable web server in the right hands.

.net will gain ground... yes i think it will be rewarding, certainly in this stage as very few are offering it.

and for developers it's an interesting language...

I think that you'll see .NET on other platforms besides Windows. The CLR has been opened up to standards bodies (ECMA) and Linux and other implementations are already in the works. I'm sure, however, that .NET will always carry a stamp of "Runs best on Windows." :)

I didn't say I didn't like Windows - in fact most of my customers on Windows servers. I was making those statements due to my observations that my Linux servers are a lot more stable than my Windows servers.

LOL!! Oh thank you for that laugh today... I needed it.

Sorry.. not trying to be rude... but even in the right hands a windows server is no where near the same category of a linux server in terms of reliability and uptime.
