View Full Version : Heart Internet Reseller

I purchased a reseller hosting plan from Heart Internet yesterday despite being from the United States. I was told that although they only offer GBD rates that I could use their API to use USD currency.

I verified my account with a rep and was told that my account would be activated within an hour. It's been almost 10 hours since then and my account still say: "You have a purchase waiting to be completed. Please contact sales." Their customer service appears to not be 24/7 as their "live chat" is offline and when I call their customer service number it says no one is there to take my call...

From searching the forums it appears that not many are happy with them. I wanted to use them bc of their features seem outstanding. Far better features than those of US web hosts offering reseller plans.
Features I'm looking for: reseller API, UNLIMITED bandwith and space... and i dont even mind if it's white label turnkey...

Can anyone recommend any reseller plans from US companies similar to those of Heart Internet?

Let's just hope I can get my money refunded!

Thanks,
Robert

You ran into the biggest trick there: "unlimited bandwidth and disk space". There's simply no such thing. It's best to go with a host that offers realistic amounts of disk space for a realistic budget. Hopefully you'll get your refund soon. :)

Hello,
I can understand your fustration and would advise you to move on. If you dont mind, let me share some advice based on your requirements.

API - Any host that uses any major control panel normally has an API. cPanel is what I personally use, and they have a great API.

Unlimited Space/Unlimited Bandwidth - It does not exist however I strongly advise you to find a host that has a limit and allows something called "Overselling". This will allow you to sell "Unlimited" plans. Please note that you may need you upgrade if your useage nears your limit.

If you're in the US they have to verify you, so it may take a little longer but you should be ok by now.

Ugh the 'Unlimited' word always sneaks in there and upsets clients. People need to have the mind set when they see 'Unlimited' they click the [x] and stay away from that company. Once again, "There is no such thing as Unlimited Space/Unlimited Bandwidth." Maybe in a perfect world.

The web hosting companies you need to look at are the ones that do not offer 'Unlimited space and bandwidth'. I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience and I hope your next web hosting provider meets your standards.

Try reserching WHT and browse some of the offers section. Also try talking to your potential host and see if they can actually do what they promised. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Also try to stay away from most unlimited offers unless their service has been online for say 3 to 5 years. Better yet look for 5-10 years. Cause if they offer unlimited and lasted 5 to 10 years then they are probably doing something right. And last but not the least try to measure or get a projection of how much space/bandwidth you might actually need so that the attraction to the word "unlimited" don't get to you that much. Better off safe than sorry.

You could try www.fasthosts.com they have an API

Don't know what their US branch is like compared to their UK branch though.

There's an endless supply of useless hosts that suck people in with slick marketing - so no shortage of people who will give you the same level of grief you've had so far.

Unlimited BW and Disk dont exist - so you'll need to adjust your requirements ...

And we should really put a big red block on top of this site with 'THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS UNLIMITED' in big, white block letters on it.

Anyway, have a look at iFuseHosting, they have a fantastic reseller plan and their service is superb. Otherwise InnoHosting or Hawk Host are interesting choices.

Of course there is not such thing as unlimited, but it's no trick. It means that you can go higher than a set amount and it wouldn't be a problem.

I really beg to differ with those comments about Heart Internet. I am with them on a reseller, I have 24/7 surport, there is an UNLIMITED bandwidth, you can use as much as you want. But you are limited by the CPU usage.

I can post proof with information if you would like from a ticket I opened with them about the bandwidth usage?

Have you opened a ticked using their ticket system?

Im in the UK and I know a few people with them and non of us have any problems. Maybe they might not like USA? :P

Well, at one point the connection is going to run out of bandwidth, so there's your limited. Besides that, long before you even get to that point, you'll be limited on bandwidth usage.

For small web sites with low bandwidth usage, yes, this is unlimited, but a plan with 10GB - 25GB would also be unlimited, as you will never reach its limit.

If they were unlimited then Google would use them and save millions on hosting costs :D:stickout:

sry couldn't resist, saw that as a joke once about "unlimited" bandwidth. Like everyone said, never go with a company that claims unlimited bandwidth.

Also be careful of uptime guarantee. I use to work for a major host and they'd claim a 99% uptime guarantee... course they'd claim that per year or for however long you had your site with them, whichever was longer, so 99% of a year ended up being a few days downtime. Even 99.9% of a year allows 10 hours downtime, still too much for some sites.

It would actually be fun to screw these unlimited providers by totally fogging up their service with a bunch of high-traffic web sites.

Well we can convince AOL to switch to Heart as their provider

Should do the trick ;)

It's just waiting until one of these providers goes down. From then on, it won't be long before the second one goes, and the third, etc.

bare in mind.. nothing in this world is unlimited...everything has a limit...
