Hi,
I am currently looking for some nice datacenters in the San Jose, California area, which provide good support and low latency to the west coast. Can anyone give me some suggestions on which company to choose?

Thanks

Well, he.net has a DC in San Jose ... haven't used them before, but have read plenty of good things on these forums.

Also, check out colosource.com. There are plenty of San Jose DC's listed there.

Good luck!

I highly recommend the ServePath datacenter in San Francisco. They have provided us with excellent support and their connections are top rate!

I am looking to co-locate a box for a couple of game servers, so the latency needs to be pretty constant and low. Meaning no spikes :D. Do you think Servepath could provide this kind of latency?

From our experience I would think that you should have no problems. Being a gamer myself I know that Bay Area pings are also VERY good - which is a plus for local gameservers.

You can contact me offline and I can provide you with some contacts there to deal with.

HE.net doesn't own a data center in San Jose, they just have space in MAE-West, (just clarifying).

I suppose a more accurate name could be, "Their San Jose location," or something along the lines of that...;)

What about NetFire? Are they any good? Anyone know what connection they are on? They seem pretty fast, but their bandwidth pricing is a killer.

HE has a datacenter in Fremont which is practically San Jose, and it rules!

311,

HE.NET has a Datacenter on South Second St, San Jose. It is the same building as MAE-West. They occupy portion of 2nd floor and even a larger space on the 11th Floor. About 4 years ago opened a 40,000 Sqft facility in Fremont, CA (20 Miles north of San Jose). We used to be colocated in San Jose, when they opened in Fremont, we moved to Fremont.

MFN/AboveNet has a large, stable installation in San Jose. We regularly get very low latency and excellent performance both locally and coast-to-coast.

We rent a cage and have some extra space, or you can contact them directly - just ask and I'll give you the name of our very helpful rep.

Prices are very affordable now and a good time to buy.

Are there any datacenters on the west coast that utilize internap, and the prices are reasonable?

Pajo.com. They're in LA. I believe they utilize Internap.

I also believe Internap has their own facility in downtown LA.
