I won't name the company, but their pricing page says this:

“We simply take your monthly average bytes per second and multiply that by how many seconds were in the given month. That number is divided into gigabytes and multiplied by $[price].”

To me that sounds like it would bill high - does that sound right to you guys (and/or girls)?

but does that math problem compute? I emailed their support, and the dude said they do:

(([mrtg avg B/sec] * 2628000) / ((1024 * 1024) * 1024)) * [price]

It seems ok to me...

It would give lower rates than the 95th percentile method, I'd say. It looks like a good deal.

Thisi s the common method to calculate for firms using the MRTG. Some will give you 95th percentile which maybe better or worst for you depending on the nature of your traffic usage. I know of several firms that uses MRTG

if you get a lot of spikes, you want this. if you dont, you want 95th
