Anyone here who uses a third paty proccesser like CCBILL or IBILL or whatever...did you hear about that ridiculous new requirement that anyone who uses a third party credit card proccesser has to pay $750 before 11/15/02 VISA deadline.....
if you want to continue to be able to accept Visa transactions on your site?
And if you don`t pay $750 you can no longer accept Visa transactions and all of your current visa transactions will be stopped.
F**king ridiculous....

are you sure its not the third party that has to pay that... not the one who uses the third party?

No, it`s you who has to pay it. You personally have to pay $750 if you want to be able to continue accepting visa transactions on your site if you are using CCBILL or IBILL or one of those pathetic third party companies.
I must have been living in a bloody cave because i have just found out about this today. Now i have to move hundreds of customers to my damn merchant account which i didn`t even want to use. I`m p*ssed.

I got this from iBill myself. The first one was for the $750!:

The concensus of information has been that the $750 fee applies only to "adult" business on the web.
As DanielP points out below what that actually means is that it applies if your third party processor deals with adult businesses or has otherwise been deemed to be "high risk."
Here are two relevant threads:

There are probably a couple more, too, that you can find by doing a search.

I wonder if this also applys to hosts that allow adult content?

JayC this applies to every customer of any 3rd party processor who has been classified as high risk... IPOP or something like that... I don't remember exactly what they called it.
In short because CCBILL and IBILL and others like them allowed adult merchants to use them visa got a higher chargeback rate but yet couldn't control it... thus visa had to put new rules in place and basically register every 3rd party processors customer so they can say who can and cannot process visa cards... only the processors labled high risk must charge their clients the 750 fee... so far others like 2checkout who do not allow adult merchants and similar do not have to pay the fee although its hard to say since 2checkout is fairly tight lipped on this...
In short if your 3rd party processor has been labled high risk no matter what you process via them you'll have to pay the fee.
Thanks for clarifying that Daniel. Since I don't use them I didn't follow the whole discussion to its conclusion, but wanted to point Frosty to the appropriate threads. I've edited my post to more accurately sum up the situation.

no problem :)
I tend to read entire threads like that and kinda followed it from the beginning since it wasn't really clear till the end on how visa was handing out that policy... but in the end it just looks like those processors who allow high risk customers (adult, downloadable software, etc) are the ones who their customers get hit with the fees..
Its almost as-if 2checkout is dancing around it trying to avoid it but they still will require everyone to register and what not.. they just may be able to dance around the fee's

I rememebr a few years back visa was being retarded and requiring places that accepted visa to only accept visa...and they say msft is a monopoly?
I have taken on the *screw you* to IBill and CCBill.. I just will use my own merchant account =)
