I know this sounds like a stupid question but I have to ask. Is it any faster when uploading/downloading files to enter "ftp.domain.com" as opposed to just "domain.com" as the hostname in an FTP client?

JTM It's not any faster or slower. And actually, the hostname is only used when making a connection to the FTP server, not when uploading or downloading.

And on CPanel servers it is indeed a wee bit slower because ftp.domain.com is a CNAME of domain.com
