Im wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Im looking for a POP mail script that can be customised template wise to give it the look and feel of webmail scripts such as hotmail or everyone.net.

Ive looked at emumail but its way too expensive.

Anyone have any suggestions??? PHP or perl preferably.

Squirrelmail is good as is Horde but i dont think they are templated

If you want users to be able to sign up for an e-mail address in the style of Hotmail then you'll probably end up spending quite a bit. If you just want to offer a webmail service then neomail is pretty good - it's also free (or, at least it always used to be!)

What i am after i guess is a good POP mail script that is templated and or framed so that i can make it display the way i want. without to much hassle.

I have looked at hotscripts but not at cgi-resources yet...

I would highly recommend taking a look at HiveMail. I used to offer free email to my vBulletin forum users from everyone.net, but wasn't very happy with their service and the recent amount of heavy advertising they have been doing. I also didn't like the idea of having a hosted solution when I had my own server.

HiveMail offers everything that you get from services like hotmail.com and everyone.net, but with complete control, and some really nice added functionality. I highly recommend HiveMail as well.

wow what a great looking program...i was going to develop a squirrel mail based product because i couldnt find a suitable solution that would allow me to easily setup a template for my site to mimc the everyone.net site i currently use, but this is great.

This hivemail seems very interesting to me.

But what about squirrelmail on an ensim box? Is it possible to have a signup page (for offering free webmail)?

I think I can write such a program using Ensim's command line commands. The only matter is controlling spams.

I think I should be able to limit number of recipients of a single email.

We have no prior knowledge of your product. Only if you provide some info can we evaluate it and then tell you if it interests us or not. Im sure people here would appreciate the information.

Take a look at OpenWebMail - http://www.openwebmail.org. It is based off of the NeoMail code, but has been vastly approved upon and is free. It has a lot of new support for built-in virtual mail hosting.
