View Full Version : NameCheap.com [Issues]
JeffBlack 08-05-2009, 08:26 PM Namecheap.com has locked my account and I have no idea why! I cannot get any support and the only support givin is from someone in the Ukraine telling me there could be a 1 week waiting period before anyone could contact me. That's a load of bull! Its my account, I paid the bill! What right do they have to lock it?
I have emailed their "Fraud Department" And no responses. I have tried the "Live Chat" support and still nothing.
What can I do? Any Suggestions??
MikeDVB 08-05-2009, 08:36 PM What email did you get from them? Surely they sent you an email telling you that your account was locked and why.
Turelio 08-05-2009, 08:39 PM Hi,
They locked your account with them, or your domain name ?
Sparrow-Sean 08-05-2009, 08:41 PM Did you use their Live Chat when they told you that you would need to wait 1 Week?
- Personally I find them quite slow with their responses - Especially in their SSL department.
As Mike said, You should of received an e-mail why. However, I wonder if your account was marked as FRAUD.

I have no idea. That was the message I got from their support. They sat some crap about the domain(s) in my account are not mine. WTF is that crap about. I registered them and placed them there. I recently moved my domain to that company and now this. Should have stayed with GoDaddy!!!!
They did'nt give me a reason. Only told me to send them my DL (which I did)... I sent numerious emails. They told me this is a normal procedure. Right if this is the normal practice for them no thanks! I'll move my domains back to GoDaddy! They locked my account.

Surely they sent you an email telling you why your account had been suspended. I can tell you that posting here isn't going to do you any good as nobody here is going to be able to do anything for you but give you some advice. I've personally used NameCheap for years with no issues.
Post up whatever email they sent to you when your account was suspended.
I think it is going too far to call NameCheap a "Fraud" just based upon them suspending your account... If every time an account got suspended the provider got labeled as a "Fraud" there wouldn't be any providers out there not considered a "Fraud" as suspensions do happen from time to time for various reasons.

True mabye the (FRAUD) word was bad. But I am irritated about it.. So I am sorry for using that phrase..

At any rate, you have yet to post up what they sent to you in your email when they suspended your account. I'm pretty certain they would have sent you something when you were suspended.
JeffBlack 08-05-2009, 09:29 PM This is what they sent me. I never even spoke with them. I only received this is the email:
We will not unlock your account because 1)the domains which are currently under the account do not belong to you 2) you refused to pass our verification process.
I don't even know why it says that. I have never spoke with them since I got my account.

It would be better if you would post the entire message from top to bottom including the subject line. And that doesn't sound like part of an account suspension message it looks like a response to an inquiry as to why your account was suspended but I could be wrong.
frankiee 08-05-2009, 09:46 PM You said you contacted live chat, could you specify on what kind of response you received? I use namecheap for my personal domains and I have only received A+ service including times when I needed support. I am surprised by this thread.

As am I, which is why I am trying to get any sort of real evidence from the OP.
The Universes 08-05-2009, 10:05 PM We're definitely not getting the whole picture here. Surely they would have given you a reason that your account was suspended.
Something must have happened that made them make you go through a verification process (most likely to prevent fraud). I would like to see what namecheap's side of the story is.
SiberForum 08-06-2009, 03:12 AM You may want to do the search here. Perhaps you will be able to find their representative here and will PM him?
mdrussell 08-06-2009, 04:55 AM Please let me know ticket id or chat numbers related to this request and I will investigate this issue for you. Obviously our fraud team has detected something suspicious resulting in the lock but I'm happy to check into this for you.
topto1 08-06-2009, 07:59 PM I suggest you use godaddy domain register never had a problem with them ;)
koolnhot 08-07-2009, 07:19 AM topto lets not divert the topic, the user is having some prob with namecheap, lets help him to rectify it and mdrusell seems to b namecheap rep, so he must be helping out

I wouldn't recommend GoDaddy over anybody lol.
redmeds 08-07-2009, 07:46 PM Never had an issue with namecheap, and have only experienced very professional courtesy and responses, along with great service.
Like some of the other posters have mentioned, unless the OP provides a cut and paste (with personal data x'd or smeared) there is no reason to suggest that namecheap has done anything to wrong them, nor can anyone give advice without a good basis of understanding.
Ohioguru 08-07-2009, 10:55 PM This is the reason why they did that.
if you read his post they said this.
you refused to pass our verification process
bumpylight 08-10-2009, 04:16 AM Ummm ... so, what happened with this? I've been away from the forums for a little bit, so maybe I'm missing a giant clue someplace obvious. I've found NameCheap over the last several years to be polite and professional, if a tad slow at times, and am (also) surprised by this thread. There's something important being left out here by the original poster, I suspect.
mdrussell 08-10-2009, 08:05 AM From a Namecheap perspective, I didn't hear from the OP.
