Hi - I am researching some of the legal issues that rise when hosting client content. I am looking for resources that Hosts and ISPs use when determing their legal responsibilities....can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks..

It's always good to cover yourself and it is a one-time cost. The cost is worth the lack of legal issues in future.
Since not all lawyers are versed in the subject, it is good to have a bit of knowledge yourself. Check out http://www.chillingeffects.org - it is probably the definitive resource on the web for IP law as it relates to hosting.

Agreed, but I have gone to a lawyer who was clueless to ideas like safe harbor. But if you scratch around enough, or as in my case, know enough lawyers, someone will have a clue.
As with doctors, you wouldn't go to a heart surgeon for your big toe. But unlike doctors, most lawyers won't admit what they do not know, so go in having some idea so you can tell a heart surgeon from a foot doctor.

You really should talk to a lawyer. But do find one who is experienced in Internet law.
A couple of resources:
http://www.bitlaw.com/
http://www.provider.com/contracts.htm
http://www.findlaw.com/01topics/
And search for a lawyer near you who specializes in Internet Law here:
