View Full Version : Does cPanel have limits?

I was just reading an advertisement in the Offers section that made mention of unlimited "everything else" when speaking about emails, subdomains, mysql databases, etc.

If you wish to discuss Unlimited hosting and if it's right or not, please do a search.

What I'm more curious about is the limits of cPanel. Specifically, how many email addresses could be setup before noticing a huge delay with the panel?

Sorry if this seems very random. It's late and I'm curious :)

Depends on the spec of the machine, also how many people are using mail/sql and how heavy thier traffic is to the server.

And assuming the server is on a real connection and how oversold it is.

So assuming load is next to nill, cpanel could handle say 1000 pop accounts being setup via it's interface under a single domain? The same goes for forwarders, mysql databases, etc.

from the email configuration, cpanel can allow up to 4 digits number only.
Maximum IMAP Connections (Total): 9999
Maximum POP3 Connections (Total): 9999
Maximum Number of Authentication Daemons: 999

So, i think there is a limit for pop3 and imap accounts, even it says unlimited.

You're welcome, Mekhu.
I'm still learning too about administering web server for hosting using cpanel.

Note that these settings are for maximum simultaneous connections. This should not be confused with a limit of only 999 or 9999 email accounts on a server.
