I must say my experience with Hostnine is unhappy.

I started using Hostnine's reseller plan since 2 months ago.

The reason I choose hostnine is it supports multi-datacenter.

However its problem is the downtime is too much, too often . That cause my clients very angry. I'm always worried that if the servers are still up. More over, because I put my sites on different servers , I must worry about more servers. When any one of them is down, I must open ticket.

And , some servers even if not totally down, however very high server load , such as more then 10 even 20, (4 core cpu). What makes me more worried is that when I open ticket to ask about the high load, they always say that that server is running backup script, it will be ok soon. But , the fact is it is often very high load, so that can not visit site time by time.

I read the some posts of this forum , and I find that the leader of hostnine Ben sometimes come here to reply posts.

If you can see this post, I really hope that you can make your servers and service better. If transfering Resller accout is easy as Shared accout , I would move away long time ago. And , I'm really always thinking about leaving Hostnine.

My native language is not english , so the reason I write so long post is really hope you can imporove your bussiness. What I say is not about a certain ticket, but an all over experience.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Yes, just give them some chance to solve it otherwise move...

Reseller hosting is easy to transfer. Just ask the provider to do it for you.

thank you net.

Hostnine uses their own resller control panel , not the WHM, so if I decide to move away, must transerfer very site's cpanel, I think that is not so convenient.

and, after transfer reseller account, I must ask my clients to modify their domain names to point to new IP , that also not a very happy thing.

If your clients are using your nameservers, they don't need to make any changes. You just change the IPs of your nameservers to your new account. I'm sure HostNine will take care of your issues. Honestly though, you should not be posting here just to get attention from a certain company. Instead of posting your review here in an effort to render a response from the company, have you attempted to contact Ben directly to see if he can resolve this for you?

More over, because I put my sites on different servers , I must worry about more servers. When any one of them is down, I must open ticket. Maybe you should use a monitoring service, even a free one, to keep an eye on all those servers. Truth be told, it should not be necessary for you to submit a ticket when a server is down. If they monitor them all and have staff working, they're probably investigating it already by the time you contact them.

You can try to contact vie a email. I see Ben's email address (not hard to guess) mentioned here: http://www.hostnine.com/hosting-forums/reseller-hosting/4354-can-anyone-os-hostnine-staff-could-check-my-ticket-please.html

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is better to inform Ben regarding your concerns by mail as Dan said. I hope they will take the feed back positively and try to improve the weak links in their service.

If it helps, there is a way of accessing WHM which basicaly resunder H9's IR system, but I can't recall the details.
I'm sure I've posted this info here before, maybe 9 months ago ?

Reseller hosting is easy to transfer. Just ask the provider to do it for you.I agree - if a provider isn't willing to move you then maybe they don't really want you as a client. While H9 does use their own control panel - you can still access the individual cPanel accounts to pull backups over to restore on a new provider.

Truth be told, it should not be necessary for you to submit a ticket when a server is down. If they monitor them all and have staff working, they're probably investigating it already by the time you contact them. One would hope so but from the performance the OP has been receiving I would think otherwise.

Good luck!

Logicly speaking HN offers daily back ups. Having 10+ load on a server taking back ups is really normal,

While it may be normal on a full server running the cPanel backups - it's definitely not acceptable.

While it may be normal on a full server running the cPanel backups - it's definitely not acceptable.

While it might be unacceptable for you or for the reseller it is normal and should be embrased by the user purchasing hosting from a provider offering 'daily' back ups. Unless you assume that daily back ups are getting generated magicly then you do have to realize that taking back ups every day will cause increased server loads.

Unless you assume that daily back ups are getting generated magicly then you do have to realize that taking back ups every day will cause increased server loads.

Or I would simply choose a provider using a solution such as R1Soft or something similar that will generate a load (every backup system will) but that load would only be 1 or 2 higher than normal operations.

If the backup system is bringing all services on the server to a screeching halt then it is unacceptable.

I've seen R1Soft bring a server to its knees. No backup system is perfect. We use an open source system and the daily incremental backups are fast and light but the weekly full backup can be a bit trying. But also it depends on the machine.

They can be good for everyone. And if they are working I assume that is ok when web hosting service provider has as good and negative reviews
