View Full Version : Is WHT broken right now? Can't view page 2+ of any thread....

I can't seem to view any thread page except page 1 within that thread. Clicking on page 2 or + of the thread results in page 1 being displayed.

Anyone else?

Just tested this a few times and wasnt able to replicate it. Tried the Dedicated Server Forum itself (scrolling between the pages of threads) and also a thread within the forum.

Is there a specific one we can look at?

It could be due to the CDN. I was having odd issues with it last night (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=878504).

It's a bit odd right now.

The last thread I tried (that was broken for me) started working again, but this one takes me to page 1...

I had a similar issue, however it was on the work system and figured it was just a glitch on our network firewall.

Just wait till this thread hits page 2, then we'll really be screwed!

It's happening to me too. I tried 5-6 threads and can't get it to display anything other than page 1.

Still very broken here. Can't go to page two, ads are not displaying sometimes.

I'm seeing this too, can't view any pages beyond page 1 in threads.

+1 here. :(

I can't see the 2+ pages either, it seems to have some problems with $_GET['page'] variable.

If this thread goes to page two, try modifying your profile settings to see more posts per page, so we can see and reply.

I just tried a different browser with clean cache and no difference. Also, if you click the "Post reply" you can still see the latest posts underneath the reply form.

Same problem here on any page 2 thread in the Lounge...

No one will ever see this post.

This all comes back to the old tree in the forest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_a_tree_falls_in_a_forest)riddle.

If a post is made on WHT, and no one is there to see it, does it exist/ was it ever made in the first place?

No one will ever see this post.

There are several ways to see a post ;)

If I click Page 2-Infinity from the main forum listings, I'm able to read the thread. If I visit page 2-Infinity from inside the thread itself, I can only see Page 1.

I can't change the page either.
By click on 2 or the next page >
It loops back to page 1

It happens in the post and the web hosting forum, that all I have tried atm

Well, I can't see page 2 of this thread so don't know what's been said. But every post I try to get to page 2 or greater just goes back to the first post. Tried in VPS forum, then came here, same problem. Using Firefox. Tried from main subforum pages to go to 2, tried from within post. Nada.

Happening to me as well.

The way to get around it is go to Edit Options, and set to a high number of posts per page. I set mine to 60 posts per page...so as long as the thread doesn't have over 60 posts, it says on one page :)

What skin are you guys using? What browser? Any mods(Noscript, etc)?

Since it can be duplicated by some but not by others, it sounds like it might be client side.

Same here for some threads, not this one though.

This thread, page 2, is working now for me again.

It's a come and go problem... A thread will work for a while, then it will not.

Using default skin, IE 8 clean.

Hey Everyone,

I don't have a lot of details right now, but we were suffering a denial of service attack earlier, and it was causing things to get a bit screwy. I saw the paging issue also, and restarting Apache fixed the issues. I'm some of my scripts that I use to catch attacks might be the culprit; please stand by if you see any more issues and post here. Thanks! :)

Ha, that's a strange side effect. I noticed it too and thought it was just my computer. Apparently restarting apache did do the trick, it's back to normal for me.

For me too....

go to User Edit Options and increase posts per page to 60

Mat, since you are on it, can you have a look at the javascript errors too?

Almost all pages have javascript errors (for months now) and in many cases they prevent the execution of other javascript codes as well. Most functions on vbulletin are failing to work.

I can see detailed reports on errors using firefox, let me know if you need my help to replicate them.

That has been a nagging issue for awhile with our peeldown fix, I think I might have squashed it, but please let me know if there are any more errors.
