I am a bit confused about this:
I am trying to use WHT's search engine to find different posts, but I got no results for something I thought I would maybe get some results. So out of curiousity I searched for "host" and I got the following:
vBulletin Message
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
  :bawling:
lol...Am I missing something here or what?

Dope, nevermind. I can now get sufficient search results.
HOWEVER, I have noticed this has happened more than once. Anyone know if this is a client or server-side problem?

Probably client side, it's working fine for me.
Also, IMO, WHT's Search feature is poorly-powered, you must select a very specific term in order to find what you're looking for--As contrasted from Sitepointforums.com's search engine feature. ;)

It always takes me a while til I ask it the right thing that will display results. :(

Speaking of the search, is it just me, or do wildcards not work?

I'm not sure about wildcards, but I've noticed AND and OR don't work.

vBulletin's search tends to suck on larger sites. You just need to experiment with different terms to get what you want. I had trouble with it a few nights ago as well. Same thing happens on other large VB's I use as well.

Hi All:
Thought I'd bring this topic back up. The WHT search still doesn't always work correctly.
Try searching for "ResellerConnection.com", which was mentioned in http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56531, and you'll get a "No results."
There are plenty of other examples. It seems to happen when the phrase being searched for is one long word, as the case usually is when it comes to site addresses. Try "**************.com" (mentioned is same thread above) or "RegisterFly.com" (included in the title of http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93188). Both have been mentioned numerous times, yet searches always yield nada.
Or it might be the ".com". Searching for just "RegisterFly" works fine.
Any ideas?

vB's engine could be rejecting like so:
1. host: specified as too common and rejected
2. registerfly.com, **************.com, too long (considered one word), rejected
3. wildcards turned off and rejected
