I'm building a new system. It's a Biostar M7VIG with a AMD 1900+ processor. I have 2 sticks of Crucial memory. They are CAS2 (CL=2) sticks (part number CT64M64S4D7E.16LT).

The BIOS is only seeing 256 meg of memory, but there is 1024 installed. I'm guessing it's related to the CAS2, but I'm lost.

BTW,
I have reseated both sticks. tried one and then the other. Sees the same amount of memory either way.

I've reloaded the failsafe also.

Any ideas?

both are 512mb of sticks

Some boards require the ram to be inserted in specific slots.. I guess you have tried that too, sorry can't help much more than suggest that if you didn't try already.
