Hello, i was wondering how do you change the IP of a subdomain that is hosted on the main account. For example, you have yourname.com and you.yourname.com they both on the same account, but you want them to be on a different ip. I tried doing it through the cPanel Change Site IP options, but it changes both of them. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Well its hosted on my server and i don't want to advertise here. The domain is reged at Namecheap. And i need them both on the same account for a script to work.

The simplest way I know is to use the Edit DNS Zone feature in WHM and find the main domain, then change the IP in the field next to the name of the subdomain.

At this time, the only way to have a subdomain be on its own IP address is to make it into its own cPanel account.

Yea my earlier advice was flawed. David is correct in that the only way is to create a new cPanel account for the subdomain. My way would result in a mismatch between the IP address in the system and the one listed with Apache, causing the site to not work.
