Hello,

I recently added another server to my family, yes thats right im now the proud father of 2 baby servers. For my first one, I have the dns setup for ns1.mysite.com ns2.mysite.com. Those names are setup with the registrar as well as on my server.

With the second server, I would like to add ns3.mysite.com and ns4.mysite.com and have those name servers point to the second server. First server uses cpanel, second uses ensim.

Can anyone provide me with some guidance? Here is how I understand this process, let me know if my understanding is flawed....

1) Setup the ns3 and ns4 with the domain registrar to point to the dns on the server #2.

2) Create "a" entries on server #1 to reflect the changes to the registrar information.

3) On server #2 setup the primary and secondary name servers through ensim.

I would really appreciate some help on this, I am somewhat confused as to the best way to do this...

Thanks in advance!

That process is correct. I've made some slight changes to the process:

1) Setup ns3.mysite.com and ns4.mysite.com with the domain registrar to point to two IP addresses on server #2.

2) Create an "a" entry for both ns3 and ns4 on server #1 to reflect the changes to the registrar information. This is assuming you have the mysite.com DNS on server #1.

3) On server #2 setup the primary and secondary name servers through ensim.

Allow 24 hours for all the information to propagate around the Internet and then it should all work fine.

I cannot figure out how to setup the name servers on ensim, I assumed it would be as simple as cpanel but there seems to be 1000 ways to do this in ensim.

Can anyone provide me with instructions on how to setup name servers in ensim?
