I just switched my whm backup settings from incrememtal to full backups to be more compatible with FTP backup. Do I need to remove the incremental backups or will the full backup do that for me? I don't want both backups sitting around taking up space.

You will need to remove the incremental backups automatically. cPanel/WHM does not automatically delete your existing backups when you switch to a different backup method (e.g. incremental to full).
