How long has it been down? Pings don't work, so it looks like the server is down, not just http. Do they have phone service? If they aren't down too often, I wouldn't be worried at this point in time; they will hopefully have it fixed ASAP.

Server with the addaction site is rebooting... should be back up in a few minutes.

(that's the discover server)

Yup, that is exactly why I asked how long they've been down. Wait at least 5 minutes before posting at WHT for help. ;) Reboots are a common issue for downtime.

Don't they have their own client notification system for server outages. No need to have clients posting at WHT for server outages.

Now if only Paysystems.com would keep us more up to date...WHT would be a Utopia. ;)

Was that a rhetorical question? Well, if it wasn't, then I would ask do you really need to contact your entire client base on a particular server for a reboot?

I don't know when the site down, At the time of writing, it is still down. How long does it take to reboot?

Yep. Never had a client complain about it yet. ;)

You just let the folks that are on that server know and not the entire client base.

Depends on the computer. My site otakuvillage.com hosted with them for a few months now and the only time they had a problem was with a HD crash and that was fixed EXTREMELY quickly. They were very professional about it and apologized like a good hosting provider should. I wouldn't get bent down on this, they are very reputable. I mean stuff happends afterall. No piece of computer hardware can be 100% perfect. Don't give up on them yet, if it's a problem, they will fix it trust me. I've had pleeenty of services around my time but addaction is really excellent and professional. Just don't get bent out of shape and relax...uh look at the moon or something ;).

MY site is up again, I hope that it's Okay. Sometimes I look at the server info, the load is very high, about 3.4, especially in the evening time, so I think this could be a problem. Well, it's my first week with addaction, really don't want to move to other host again.

I just got word that their fan died so they had to replace it. I told you nothing is perfect. I trust that'll be the last of the problems we have from addaction.net hopefully. I trust them. Just be patient, I'm sure they are trying very hard to get everything back up and satisfy everybody's needs.

Hi,

We apologize for the downtime of the sites on the Discover server. The server is up and running and looks healthy but we will start moving sites from this server next week as this was the second hardware failure in a short period of time. All those affected will be contacted by e-mail.

I got the same message saying that the fan on the CPU died and had to be replaced. You are right, their support is great and the repair is fast.
