faculty 11-08-2002, 10:36 PM Umn... You say unlimited bandwidth.. then say it is a 100mbps network.
That is limited.. is it not?
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:37 PM sorry, please ignore the bandwidth limit above.. All dedicated servers comes with unlimited bandwidth
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:38 PM by unlimited i'm reffering to monthly bandwidth (transfers)
faculty 11-08-2002, 10:39 PM Excuse me? I think I am right in saying that if the network it limited to 100mbps, then no matter how much bandwidth your connections have, your whole NETWORK can only push 100mbps.
Which means there is a 100mbps cap.. then devided among all your servers..
faculty 11-08-2002, 10:40 PM So if you were referring to monthly transfers, then why do I see "800GB Data Transfer" in each plan?
That means it is limited to a 100mbps network and 800GB transfers.
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:40 PM yup thats abosutley corrent and no changes at all :)
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:41 PM All servers get UN-METERED bandwidth, there are no extra fees for extra bandwidth use
faculty 11-08-2002, 10:41 PM Oh... so if I use say 900 GB, I wont be charged for the extra 100 GB?
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:42 PM i promise you can use 500 extra GB or more, you wont be billed anything extra.
BiGWill 11-08-2002, 10:51 PM ... looks like another FDCServers reseller.
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:53 PM LOL
RackMy.com 11-08-2002, 10:54 PM Do you offer servers with 10 GIG-E?
aractelnet 11-08-2002, 10:55 PM nope sorry.
RackMy.com 11-08-2002, 11:00 PM But your offer says unlimited BW? How can I push 10,000 Mbps worth of bandwidth?
ckpeter 11-08-2002, 11:34 PM aractelnet, you should do a search on this forum with the keyword "unlimited."
Also, as a suggestion: you may want to edit your post to include information on the network, or change XP 200 to XP2000.
Peter
clocker1996 11-08-2002, 11:39 PM WOOOHOOOOO!!!
AMD XP 200 SERVERS
UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH
Where do i sign??
wdsonic 11-09-2002, 12:11 AM note: they are a reseller for kingcomp know as (fdcservers.net)
using yipes bandwidth -
kingcomp own a 100mbps transit (the bandwidth shared with many servers)
ckpeter 11-09-2002, 12:13 AM I thought FDC owns a full GIG-E? (At least that's what Petr said).
Peter
clocker1996 11-09-2002, 12:14 AM yes, they do. wdsonic just doesn't seem to know what he's talking about at all
Kaumil 11-09-2002, 02:03 AM No such thing as "unlimited bandwidth transfer".
jasoncart 11-09-2002, 05:43 AM LOL - this offer is very confusing
Mango 11-09-2002, 05:51 AM Ah, so you were the one (nick Jason) spamming everyone in the RackShack IRC channel yesterday. Not really professional, eh... ?

Nick_PP 11-09-2002, 11:10 AM In the last week I've looked over 50 offers about dedicated hosting. I didn't see a offer like yours.
I'd like to ask something......
1) In your web site I read about your partners (Qwest & Internap) (http://www.aractelnetworks.com/partnerships.html). I made a few traceroutes from different points but I didn't see these providers. So, which providers do you use for your backbone?

4) Which is your data centre?

If his main site is at the same 'DC' as his customers' servers, he resells FDCservers boxes, so single-homed on Yipes.

Darth 11-09-2002, 12:00 PM Hmm, Unlimited..
aractelnet 11-09-2002, 04:58 PM yesum who said that we have to have our site's server located at kincomp or anywhere else? Isnt it safe to have your site somewhere outside your network incase accidents happen?
faculty 11-09-2002, 05:05 PM Right...
You own a DC... and dont host your own server in it...
Right...
Don't say to much for your DC then...

OK, understood. Can you provide us with an IP address of a box inside your DC, so that we can test the response time and such ?
dhecht 11-10-2002, 04:49 AM bandwidth... transfer... 100, 500, 800
who cares as long as it's "unlimited" ;)
reminds me of the old ISP days where there always used to be small print on the dialup ad - "unlimited means as much as you can use given the limits of your computer etc. etc."
In this business, unlimited means an unmetered 10Mbps connection. Or a 100Mbps connection that only works for a few hours a day. Or someone ran a cross-connect in a shared DC cage that some other company isn't going to be too happy about... LOL

Hostkookster 11-11-2002, 05:24 AM Please provide an IP of a box inside your DC. This would dispell all rumors floating around this thread.
