Has anyone had experience, or heard of how the servers and service is at CWI hosting?

If I am correct, their servers are in the RackSpace data center. One of my friends had a virtual hosting account with them, but I do not know anybody personally who has a dedicated server with them. (Don't register your domain name through them though).

How was your friends virtual hosting experience? Have you heard some bad things about registering domain with them?

My friends experience with them was good, and tech support was decent. The problem is, you do not get control over your domain name, you must email them to make any nameserver, or contact info changes. It's also not listed under your email address (just your name, their email address). I'd stick with something like GoDaddy.com or NameBargain.com

As a host of virtual domains, CWI Hosting doesn't have a good reputation on this board. Do a search before you sign up with them.

Their servers are a little crowded (http://www.realitycomplex.net/bandwidth/index.cgi?action=showmonth&year=2002&month=Oct), but I think he wants to know about dedicated servers with them.
