Hello,

im currently looking for a tool that collects my logfiles from the different linus servers and gives me the tools to analyse them.
I tried to find something that is working, not too expensive and idealy runs with a webserver interface.
I tried some Client Software tools like 'EventLog Analyzer' but this is a bit overpriced for my feeling.

I would appreciate any hints to the tools you use.

thanks

You may want to check out:
http://www.rsyslog.com/ (better remote syslog to DB/etc, w/ GUI)
http://www.snort.org/ (log analysis w/ rules)

You can also choose the simple route of merging syslogs into a single remote host:

Take a look at Splunk (http://www.splunk.com), which is a tool that can consolidate log files and give you tools for searching and analyzing the results. It's an enterprise-grade tool, with pricing to match, but there's a free version that supports up to 500 MB of log files per day.
