Yesterday I call tech support and tell them I am getting bad bandwidth(20k a second). He told me it was because I was using all of the ram in my server....... I told him it was a linux server and linux will never release ram it will continue to cache it until it is all gone. He said that wasn't true I believe the exact words is "well you're wrong" ( http://www.linuxvalley.it/encyclopedia/ldp/guide/sag/x1565.html ). Then He said my resources were being heavily utilized

Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that when they sold me the server they said it would be a dedicated 1.5 pipe. Then about two months later they tell me they switched it to a shared 1.5 pipe with an undisclosed amount of other servers on it. Without prior notification. And now someone is sucking up that wee little line.

This is just a warning for all the people out there that you get what you pay for.

thanks Abaddon for the warning. i was just about to buy smth on rackforce. their prices for the servers are good, but their network suck.

they`ve setupped a test server: test.rackforce.com
ive tried to download 5MB file to my RS box and my average d/l speed was 50Kbps! (100 Kbps was the most)
