Excellent prices and services, just that thing about checking the servers is not that cool

This - "We do not routinely monitor the activity of accounts except for measurements of system utilization and the preparation of billing records. However, we reserve the right at any time to monitor data on customer servers and our network in order to verify compliance with our TOS/AUP"

We must insert that in for legal reasons but if you're not doing anything illegal you don't have anything to worry about right?

Indeed is just that i've been with other vpls.net divisions and they don't do that, I mean what is there is sensitive information like the server is a ts for an important business, or what do you mean by monitor data? you log to server and look around or what's that.

Thanks

No, we don't log into the servers unless you give us the login details. We do have network collectors that sample traffic for DDOS, virus outbreaks etc.

This might be obvious for some but not for me so I better ask, those 100mbps are shared? if they are how much bandwidth can we expect. wondering because the price is extremely low and awesome to be truth lol.

Thanks

Q: What transfer rates can I expect from your 100Mbps managed dedicated unmetered package?

A: Transfer rates vary for each package as the CPU and hard drive speeds come into play. Typical rates are from 40 – 60Mbps. Click here to see a sample of an actual Organic package 100Mbps customer.

You can click on the link and see a sample traffic graph from a 100Mbps and 1000Mbps customer. Yes the bandwidth is shared but we don't limit a 100Mbps server to 100Mbps of Internet. We monitor the bandwidth closely to ensure peak performance.

Hello,

I'm the Abuse Manager at HiDef/VPLS. By monitoring data, we're monitoring network data with INMON. It charts data flows (source, destination, port, time). It does not record what is inside the data payload.

Network monitoring is vitally important as it helps us prevent both incoming and outgoing DDOS attacks along with unwanted port scanning.
