I have one phpBB2 forum with just 80 members and 400 posts, after checking my bandwidth in ENSIM, I am suprised that the bandwidth for 8 days(Nov 1-- Nov 8 ) has been more than 1.5G(http bandwidth), I don't use any big pics or icons, just txt posts. how come?
I am afraid that my forum will get at least 1000G/ month with more than 100000 posts in the future.
Any idea about that? What is your monthly bandwidth used with phpBB2? how about vbb? Thanks.

Have you checked your site stats to see if someone may be hotlinking your images or similar? I have a client who has ~4000 members with a phpbb and they're pushing ~20GB a month. I would look at the stats though to see what's happening. Best wishes.

surfmanjoe,
I have to agree with Tallon. I manage the server for phpbb.com and we only use about 200 gig/month with about 7 million pageviews.
Unless the template you are using is very graphic heavey, it's coming from somewhere else (or Ensim's reporting is off).

though I must admit that the standard (subSilver) templates have more html than necessary ... but that could really not be the cause of such a huge amount of bandwidth ;-)

Ensim may have problems with their bandwidth monitoring. I was reading in this thread on AWH that it reports 20GB in 3 days, when AWstats showed just less than 2GB. Definitely good to check it out.
P.S. Please note that this is not an attack on the host or the software. It's talking more specifically about the software, and someone's experience with it.

I also run a phpBB with over 3000 members and close to 100,000 posts and it only does around 10gb/month. It did do considerably more, but after turning gzip on it cut bandwidth in almost half.
